Spike Rush
Spike rush is a native, cool-season, rhizomatous, sod-forming perennial in the sedge family. It is an important component of wetland ecosystems, where it provides food and cover for waterfowl. It is equally at home in coastal swamps, mountain bogs, stream banks, or desert alkali wetlands. Spike Rush spreads rapidly and is very tolerant of saline and alkaline conditions, making it good for stabilizing and reclaiming wet areas.
