Streambank Wheatgrass
Streambank Wheatgrass is a native, cool-season, perennial sod-forming grass with an extensive rhizomatous root system that also has a few deep roots. It is palatable to livestock and wildlife, and makes a good dryland pasture. Streambank Wheatgrass is also very useful for reclamation, because in addition to drought tolerance and an extensive root system, it has very good seedling vigor. It also tolerates cold and fire. It can be used as a lawn grass where irrigation water is limited. Streambank Wheatgrass prefers medium to coarse-textured soils and is adapted to elevations of up to 10,000 feet.
