Canby Bluegrass

Description

Canby Bluegrass is one of the many native bluegrasses that provide valuable understory grass coverage and early spring grazing/greenup properties.  This is a perennial, cool season, long lived, native bunch grass found in the intermountain areas as well as the Northern Great Plains.  It does well on shallow soils as well as deeper soils and can handle drought relatively well due to the extensive, shallow, fibrous root structure.  It can grow on a wide range of soils.  Canby is typically used in native revegetation applications.  It typically germinates in 2 – 3 weeks when conditions are right.
