Spike Dropseed

Spike Dropseed is a native, perennial, warm-season bunch grass growing up to 3 feet tall that occurs primarily in desert shrub-grass and pinyon-juniper communities below 6,400 feet.  It is adapted to dry, sandy soil and tolerates mild salinity.  Spike Dropseed is useful in preventing wind erosion to sandy soils and also provides forage for cattle and horses on desert winter range.
