Creeping Red Fescue
Creeping Red Fescue is an introduced, cool-season, sod-forming perennial grass that is used for lawn and golf course turf, usually in a mixture with perennial rye and bluegrass. It needs moist soil to develop but, once established, has a very deep root system and is very resistant to wear and drought. Creeping Red Fescue grows well in shaded as well as sunny areas, and will tolerate acid soils. It spreads slowly with short rhizomes.
