Switchgrass
Description
Switchgrass is a warm-season, native, perennial, sod-forming grass that is strongly rhizomatous. It provides abundant highly nutritious and palatable summer forage for both livestock and wildlife and also makes a high-quality hay. Switchgrass is also valuable for soil stabilization and erosion control. It does poorly on heavy clay soils but is otherwise adaptable to a range of soil types.
