California Bluebell
California Bluebell, also called Desert Bells, is an annual wildflower native to the Mojave and Sonoran Desert regions of southern California and Arizona. It can be grown throughout the country at altitudes up to about 7,900 feet. California Bluebell is a good addition to a pollinator garden because it attracts both bees and butterflies. Its cobalt blue blooms with protruding yellow anthers make it a pretty cut flower as well. California Bluebell prefers sandy to gravelly soil and a neutral pH. It is easy to start from seed, grows quickly, and once established will reseed itself. It can tolerate cold down to 0 degrees F.
