Big Bluestem
Description
Big Bluestem is a warm-season, native, perennial bunchy sod-forming grass. It provides good erosion control on well drained soils and is one of the most palatable warm season grasses for livestock. It can tolerate shallow, acidic, and low fertility soils. Big Bluestem has relatively weak seedling vigor compared to cool season grasses and weeds; competition from other species must therefore be controlled for successful establishment.
