Fowl Bluegrass

Fowl Bluegrass is a native, cool-season, weakly sod-forming perennial grass.  It spreads by stolons and is found mainly across the northern and western states in moist meadows and along stream banks.  It grows best at low to medium elevations but has been found at up to 10,000 feet.  It is highly palatable for all livestock and can be used for pasture where there is sufficient moisture.  It is a food source for waterfowl and its main use is for reclamation and erosion control for moist sites.
