Thurber Fescue

Thurber Fescue is a tall growing, native, cool season bunchgrass.  It is adapted to the higher elevations (8,000′ – 13,000′) that get annual precipitation of 16″ to 36″. It is generally not considered a very palatable grass however, it does provide cover and feed for small mammals.  Thurber Fescue does have a large root structure, making it a viable candidate for high elevation reclamation and erosion control efforts.
