Snake River Wheatgrass
Snake River Wheatgrass is a cool-season, perennial bunch grass native to the northern Great Plains and Intermountain regions of the western United States. It is long-lived, and tolerant of cold, drought and fire. It grows successfully from 500 to 10,000 feet above sea level and prefers coarse-textured soils. Snake River Wheatgrass is palatable to livestock and wildlife. Because of its drought tolerance, seedling vigor, and extensive root system it is a good component for reclamation mixes. Snake River Wheatgrass is compatible with slower developing native species but does not do well with aggressive introduced grasses.
